Work Program Summary
Ecoscape has participated in numerous storm water and drainage planning exercises for clients such as City of Vernon, District of West Kelowna, and City of Kelowna. As part of multi-disciplinary teams, our environmental consulting services involve comprehensive stream and riparian inventory, storm water and water quality inventory and planning, and development mitigative strategies to achieve environmental solutions. For instance, tools such as Sensitive Habitat Inventory and Mapping (SHIM) is used to understand natural drainage patterns. SHIM contains detailed information regarding draining structures/features, bank stabilization, bridges and all other anthropogenic modifications along stream corridors. As part of these projects, Ecoscape indentifies habitat restoration and enhancement opportunities to promote better watershed management. General opportunities were identified by stream reach for which Ecoscape provided general design guidelines and functional objectives to be considered in detailed design stages.
