Work Program Summary

The proposed Black Mountain Reservoir will cover an area of approximately 35 hectares. In order to satisfy regulatory requirements to proceed with reservoir construction, Ecoscape has been retained to complete a comprehensive environmental inventory and assessment. This assessment includes inventories of aquatic, riparian, and terrestrial ecosystems, and vegetation communities that occur. Species inventories will include plants, birds (forest, grassland and raptor surveys), herpetiles, and small mammals. In addition, sensitive habitats and resources were identified and mapped. Finally, ecological recommendations and mitigative concepts were prepared to reduce the potential impact of the proposed reservoir.
