Our broad-based knowledge in fisheries and freshwater science, wildlife, plants and ecosystems, and GIS and data management combines for a team that is well positioned to ensure the successful completion of your project.
Non Profit
Ecoscape has worked for several non-profit organizations. Our work has helped many non-profit organizations and has provided substantial information to organizations to help them with their specific cause. For example, Ecoscape has worked with numerous residents associations in the development of shoreline management policies on small interior lakes (e.g., Jimsmith Lake in the Kootenay’s). Ecoscape will consider reduced rates or other financial considerations for non-profit organizations on a case by case basis in an effort to ensure the long term viability and sustainability of our ecosystems as part of an adaptive management process.
Forestry
Ecoscape has completed numerous forestry related projects relating to the biological considerations of the industry. Specific examples includes forest cover assessments (e.g., Equivalent Clear Area (ECA’s)), fish stream classification and fish passage assessments, and Wildlife assessments. We provide cost efficient solutions to the industry and are intimately aware of the challenges faced by companies working in the forest sector.
Real Estate and Land Development
Ecoscape has worked on multitude of development projects, from development permits and Riparian Areas Regulation Assessments to subdivision and re-zoning applications. We are well acquainted with local Government processes and provincial and federal regulations and approval requirements. Our knowledge of fish and Wildlife habitat requisites, skills in mapping and analysis, and attention to detail will benefit your project from concept through construction.
Industrial / Commercial
Ecoscape has worked with numerous industrial and commercial clients. Our work on these projects has been both to facilitate land development and to help get the businesses operating permits (e.g., a gravel pit needs a bridge to conduct works, etc.). We provide our clients cost effective environmentally sound solutions to their challenging needs.
Water Management
Water is one of the most important resources we rely upon. We have extensive watershed experience, ranging from water quality assessments, to source water risk assessments. Coupled with this, our water inventory methods such as Sensitive Habitat Inventory and Mapping, Foreshore Inventory and Mapping, Large River Inventory and Mapping and Wetland Inventory and Mapping enable us to work on any aspect of water resource management.
Coupled with this, we have worked on numerous large water infrastructure projects including water intakes, dams, and hydroelectric power. Ecoscape also has strong associates who provide groundwater consulting that allow us to address any water resource management needs clients may have.
Energy and Power
Ecoscape has worked on several energy and power projects. Specifically, most of work has focused on the Environmental Effects Monitoring aspects of these works. However, our extensive experience working on numerous Canadian Environmental Assessment Act Projects and monitoring large infrastructure projects ensures that we can provide effective solutions to any energy project from concept, through design, and into construction.
Research
Ecoscape has participated in numerous research projects for academia, industry, and Government. We have been involved in research projects in terrestrial and aquatic environments and have the expertise and associates to ensure data is collected and analyzed in a rigorous manner.
Government
Ecoscape has provided a variety of services to Governmental agencies at the local, provincial, and federal levels. Most of work for Government has focused on the development of tools that are necessary to streamline regulatory processes. For instance, we have prepared risk assessment tools for water purveyors, shoreline sensitivity analyses for local, provincial and federal agencies, and environmental land use plans such as Official Community Plans.
Transportation and Infrastructure
Ecoscape has been involved in numerous large and small infrastructure projects for all sectors. We have extensive experience in regulatory approval processes at all levels of Government, environmental monitoring of works, and completing follow up Environmental Effects Monitoring. Our approach to Transportation and Infrastructure projects is to ensure that we cost effectively and efficiently find solutions to mitigate the impacts of these necessary projects. Working with contractors, Government, or private industry, we aim to provide effective solutions for our clients.
